Jasper Mersereau is the owner and operator of JA

He has over 25 years of inspecting experience.
Before starting JA Mersereau & Associates Inc., he worked for companies as
diverse as engineering
consultants, architects, manufacturing firms, electric utility companies
and environmental consultants.
He has performed extensive engineering work that
included design and installation of large commercial boilers, instrumentation
controls, as well as inspection & repair of boilers and their associated
equipment.
He has supervised construction contractors as well as
mechanics and technicians.
As an Environmental Manager he performed Due Diligence inspections and
Phase I Environmental Site Inspections of facilities.
Jasper is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia.
He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois
Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola
University, both located in Chicago, Illinois.
He is Certified by the Virginia State Board of Housing and Community
Development and The Building Officials and Code Administrators in Building Code
Inspections
(they are the people who certify your local and state Code
Officials)
He is a Commonwealth of Virginia Certified Home Inspector.

This program was started by the Commonwealth in July 2001 in
order to regulate the industry
He has successfully completed Inspection Training Associates Home Inspection
Training course. A nationally recognized training firm for Home Inspectors. The
course covers in detail all aspects of a home inspection from foundation to roof
He is a full member of The National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI),
and has successfully passed both ASHI® Examinations
which tests the applicants knowledge of home inspection topics.
He has a strong involvement in the Local and State Home Inspection
Industry.
He is a past President of the local ASHI Chapter and has
served as Vice-President, Secretary, and Legislative Committee Chairmen.
Jasper also has served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association
of Real Estate Inspectors (VAREI)
a statewide group dedicated to being the voice of Home
Inspectors within the State of Virginia. They have played a very active role in
the development of regulations for the home inspection industry.
